About Dusty

Dusty Lynn Baker, MLSt, (she/her) is a professional artist, business owner, and military veteran. She works in multiple disciplines including writing, painting, photography, and as a classically trained chef.

Dusty received a Creative Arts Fellowship with the Indiana Arts Commission in 2022. She has led creative writing workshops with the IU Center for Rural Engagement, and presented as a guest panel member at the 2022 annual conference. She is the current Resident Artist (Painting) at Beck’s Grist Mill National Historic Site, and has led both painting workshops and exhibits at the Mill since 2021. Dusty exhibited in Creative Writing at the Gayle Karch Cook Center for Public Arts and Humanities at Indiana University, Bloomington, in 2021.

Dusty is the owner and creative for the Austy’s brand based in Salem (Washington County) in Southern Indiana, her home for the last nine years. She is also an active volunteer in her community, serving on multiple boards, and is a trained Purdue Master Gardener & Master Naturalist.

Dusty is available for writing workshops, painting classes, and private culinary classes and events.
